ShowTellShare One Hundred and Thirty-Eight

Show/Share: A busy day yesterday: meeting with some of our supporters who are helping to bring together our November showcase event…

And it certainly helps to maintain a positive mood when your first meeting of the day is in Clovelly. Chloe and I met Emma, who has graciously offered to help us with our graphic design work. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with, and then share it with you, of course! Thanks Emma xo

Then next on to our meeting with Sindy Dube (who I’ve before before). Sindy is part of the Africa Konnect group, and has agreed to be our very own stylist for The Social Outfit’s first Sydney runway show. *Woot, woot!* I love this photo Sindy let me take; she was totally rockin’ that horse shirt!

Finally I met with some of my Board members to help me with our finalisation of The Social Outfit ‘Case for Support’ and financial modelling (not that it ever really ends, though… you just keep trying to get clearer with explanation, each time).

So like I said, a busy day, and one filled with equal measure hard work and hope! xo

Tell: Earrings from op shop, handmade necklaces, The Social Studio silk dress, vintage cape from op shop (which I totally need to wear again, because this photo doesn’t do it enough justice… so you can look here), Saba belt, Black Milk leggings, Camper sandals.

Show:

Tell: Skivvy from op shop, handmade jacket from op shop, 1980′s dress from op shop, Fluevogs.

Share: So on Friday, as you know, I met up with Sindy and Wanyika from Africa Konnect. They are such lovely women, and we immediately began talking about all the potential collaborations which could happen if The Social Studio proves successful in Sydney. Very exciting! Sindy is a designer and also specialises in hair and make up work, and Wanyika has her own label, Froq Afriq. At every step I am reminded just what an *opportunity* it would be for The Social Studio to exist in Sydney… and so I best get on with securing this start-up funding then, hey?! xo

Show: Oh, how I love wearing The Social Studio and other, fine, local Australian fashion. That grin is *pure* joy!

Tell: Glasses from op shop, earrings from the UK, Tatty Devine necklace, vintage belt worn as necklace, The Social Studio felt jacket from TSS4 collection, Dragstar dress, Black Milk leggings, Trippen sandals from outlet store in Berlin, Oroton purse from op shop, Ken Done scarf (*love*).

Share: So much meeting and greeting over these past two days… Yesterday I met and chatted with Tom from StartSomeGood about crowdfunding, and then I met with Celia at Dragstar about running boutique fashion labels locally (and ended up being involved in their *rad* competition. Check out my impromptu presentation skills – or lack thereof – here ). Below is Ingrid and I unveiling the Dragstar winner:

A big thank you to Tom and Celia for your time and expertise. Very helpful. Then today I met with Natasha who is writing a media piece on The Social Studio for Andable (who are launching in May – check it out – like Etsy with social impact).

And next I’m off to meet some of the lovely women from Africa Konnect. Plus, all this fun while wearing this *excellent* The Social Studio‘s felt cape… check out the back detailing… Yep, it’s like louvre system while I zip around the joint!! And, of course, a Happy Friday to you, xo
